The 5th Annual SA Eco Film Festival returns to Cape Town and surrounds 22 – 30 March 2018, proudly supported by leading Western Cape ECO Friendly business partners Sustainable.co.za, Ballo, Reliance and Hemporium.

In an age where we are more connected than ever before, we have the opportunity to discover how very #connected we are; not simply to each other, but to every level within the ecosystem. This year we invite you to consider the multitude of ways in which we are #connected. If we could tease out and make visible all the threads that connect all things, how different do you believe our world would be?

We are proud to be showcasing challenging, intriguing and creative film content from SA and across the world highlighting issues that affect us all, whilst introducing participants filmmakers and audience members alike to sustainable living choices and life style changes that are available, today.

The South African Eco Film Festival was founded by While You Were Sleeping, a registered South African Non Profit Organisation (NPO registration no: 137-167 NPO) committed to bringing documentaries with important social themes to South African audiences. It is now run in association with Erica Projects.

The Digital Lab Africa call for projects targets artists, producers, designers, startups, students in the media and creative industries. The call is open to any individual from Sub-Saharan African region having an innovative project in 5 categories of multimedia production: web creation, virtual reality, video game, animation  and digital music.


The applicants have to be based in this region or being nationals of one of the Sub-Saharan African countries, provided the project development is mostly implemented locally.


DLA is looking for projects at initial stage of development, in need of partners and financial support and innovative in terms of narration, content or technologies.


SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 25 February 2018
