About this artwork

The people are gathered to see their king around the castle gates. There are musicians who are rejoicing in the kings presence. The kings castle is surrounded by walls with intricate, ancient designs. There is a market place to the left selling Benin's rich natural resources such as palm oil in bottles and spices. The houses are made of clay and straw.
