About this artwork

Chauta is Prophetess from a Malawian Folktale. She was married to a snake who whispered tales of future danger into her ear at night so she could save village people. A colony disagreed with her magic and attempted to drown her countless times but each time she rose again, stronger and more beautiful than before.
