About this artwork

The wars and colonialism in Africa including holidays we commemorate to this day, are all linked to the issue of Land, because Land is wealth in Africa as it is endowed with natural resources and human resources to work the land. The words "Work The Land " made out of cut defunct bank notes is a metaphor which I believe Shango strongly believed in too. Africa is in a state of latency and we need to develop it as much as we possibly can, usingthe human and natural resources we have. The highly detailed portrait is my rendition of what Shangoyou might have looked like.
